What to Wear

Alright, the last time I survived attended a wedding, in October no less, I looked like this two years ago:

I don't look THAT bad, but I can remember wishing I was watching the Sox instead. I'm not any thinner, but I'm in better shape in terms of quantity of exercise. And I have less tatas. I still have this dress and I could easily wear it again. After all, it is a black dress, suitable for all weddings and funerals. These days many people feel they're one in the same. This particular affair is a night wedding in mid-October.

But of course, I still have enough of the S chromosome in me to try to see if there's something out there in the world that I could wear instead.

So here are the contenders or should I say contender. It is a limited pool, let me tell you. Basically, this is the same dress in 3 colors. Technically, the black has shorter sleeves and no little spacer between the cleavage.

Since you're all so great with offering your opinion, my own little brigade of Stacies and Quentins, I thought I'd toss this one out there for you to weigh in on as well. I've ordered all 3 to try on, and will probably return all 3 when I remember that the fabric doesn't like me...or something.

Buying dresses can be a horrendous affair.. Generally I just go to whatever shop has the best selection and try on everything they have in stock in my size.

As for which I like better... I like the style of the black one, but the color of the blue one for a wedding. My mother has permanently programmed me not to wear white or black to a wedding in case I happen to offend the bride. Charcoal grey though is totally acceptable. :)

I really think you should go with the black one for style though. Wear one of those "plunge" bras (I get mine at Lane Bryant, the cotton ones are awesome). No reason you can't show off how hot you are. :)

Ok. so you got me thinking about dresses, and so I started online window shopping.. I think I'm in love with this http://www.roamans.com/product.aspx?PfId=165422&DeptId=9872&ProductTypeId=1&PurchaseType=I&pref=cs&pos=3&rec=Certona...

of course it'll probably look like crap on me, but it looks fabo in the pics.

Ooo wait.. maybe I like this http://www5.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?DeptID=50434&CatID=51583&GrpTyp=PRD&ItemID=16c115b&attrtype=&attrvalue=&CMID=51582&Fltr=&Srt=&QL=F&IND=2&cmVirtualCat=&CmCatId=51582|51583

Ooh, I like the plummy purple one. It seems like it would best suit your complexion...at least from the limited photos I've seen. :-)

I vote for the black. I have a wedding in October too. Haven't started looking for a dress. Gotta get my ass moving.

Can we get a virtual fashion show?

I love color, no really, I do, but the black is my favorite. Firstly because it's black. I mean, hello?!?! Obviously.
Secondly because it shows more cleavage. I'm a cleavage girl. I firmly believe that God wouldn't have put the girls front and center like he did if he didn't want us to show the cleavage. Surely it says that somewhere in the Bible. I'll check later.
So if you and the 'fabric or whatever (lol)' can get along well, I vote for the black one in your pic or the black one in the other pic.

I like all 3...the style is very flattering. My 1st pick would be plum, then black, but I think the blue one would bring out your eyes... You're just gonna have to post the fashion show - and we can all vote! : )

I love the plum but you already knew that! :)

I vote for anything other than the black. I have a hard time with the idea of black at a wedding, but that's just me. I'll bet the turquoise would look really good on you.

you're like butter to me

Sagittarius is born to travel the world and move upwards and outwards. Naturally gregarious, they love the idea of meeting different people and understanding foreign cultures. There is also a desire to broaden the mind too, with the possibility of many Sagittarians being lifelong students. Their outlook is generally optimistic and there is a distinct lack of concern over the smaller, practical details. A great sense of humor and a lack of petty mindedness are Sagittarian qualities too. Sagittarius is open -- open-minded, open-hearted and generous, up to a point. They like to get value and will not be quite so impulsive with their cash but they do have a natural ability to get on with people from many varied walks of life. They have an innate sense of wanting to help others and give them a hand up the ladder and can be wonderful and exciting companions. Expect an honest answer when you ask a question and maybe some long philosophic discussions into the night. Jovial, optimistic, versatile, open-minded, philosophical, sincere, frank, visionary.
